Keren 23 – “Free Spirit” (Van der Stadt designed)
Fractional rigged 23 footer sloop in pristine condition with a racing handicap of 0,835. Anti-fouled, inspected and polished June 2017. In 2016 maintenance included new cabin windows fitted, new outboard motor bracket and hatch/washboard sliders replaced. Keel inspection was also performed and new anti-chafe hose installed on guard rails.
Decks repainted May, 2016.
• Standing Rigging: Inspected and re-set. Deck stepped aluminum mast. Aluminum boom.
• Running Rigging: Halyards and Sheets replaced 2015
• Sails: Main and Genoa (roller furled) – Ullman Sails – brand new, used for the first time in Feb, 2016. Genekker is in pristine condition and has launching/stowage bag that fixes (and can be removed) from foredeck. Spare main and genoa.
• Winches: Lewmar with covers and 2 winch handles. Winches serviced in June 2017. All halyards lead to cockpit and one winch accommodates all halyards. Removable halyard stowage bags fitted. Port and starboard winch for sheets.
• Stackpack and Lazyjacks – lazyjacks replaced Feb 2016, stackpack refurbished in June 2017.
• Outboard: 5 hp long shaft 4-stroke. Motor had its 50 hour service done in Jan 2016. 25 litre external fuel tank included. Last service November 2017.
• Fenders and mooring lines
• Anchor with chain and warp
• Electrical: 80W solar panel with regulator feeding two 105 Ahr sealed battery (new batteries in September 2017). DB board and inverter. LED cabin lights, Sound system, cabin fan and Led battery voltage monitor.
• Instruments: New Raymarine Tridata depth/speed/log – fitted January 2016, Anemometer (with burgee mounting next to unit.
• ICOM IC-M36 VHF (waterproof and floats) Transceiver
• Navigation: port/starboard light mounted in pulpit. Removable stern light. Vaal dam chart. Garmin GPS (was used in motor vehicle, works very well on Vaal Dam)
• Cabin: Open Plan (mast is deck stepped)
o Double V-berth in bow with cushions
o Port and starboard bunks with cushions
o Fully enclosed heads with porta-loo
o 2 burner gas range
o Sink with 25 litre water tank with electric pump, crockery and cutlery.
o Stowage for crockery/cutlery. All bunks have stowage capacity.
• Cockpit: - Cushions for port and starboard seating.
o Boarding ladder (folding - thus not mounted, stowed in cabin).
o Lazarettes on port/starboard along with stowage under cockpit centre section.
o Tiller with cover and mounting for tiller extension (stowed in cabin). Raymarine ST2000 self steering fitted June 2017.
o Man overboard pack (removable, stowed in cabin)
• Miscellaneous:
o Tool kit including rigging cutter
